The Delhi government on Thursday declined to give Divya Kakran, who is representing Uttar Pradesh and won the Commonwealth Games in 2022, a monetary award. This is in response to Divya Kakran, an Indian wrestler, accusing the Delhi government of failing to assist her and forcing her to relocate to Uttar Pradesh.

Saurabh Bhardwaj, an AAP legislator, remarked, "Although she resides in Delhi, she only served as a representative for 2016–17. In 2018, CM Kejriwal made a cordial phone call to her. We have always respected her, but since she worked for UP, we are unable to pay her."

Divya Kakran revealed during a press conference that she went to Delhi in 2001 and began training in wrestling in 2006.

"I've been living in Golakpur for the past 22 years. My father found a way to get me wrestling training here. I made money by competing against boys, but the Delhi government gave me no financial support. I went to UP since my family was suffering greatly as a result of our poor financial situation. I previously won numerous medals for Delhi, "she said.

Kakran reported that only Manoj Tiwari had given her the financial support of 3 lakh despite the fact that she had won 58 medals for Delhi up till 2017.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, presented me with the Rani Lakshmi Bai award and a check for ₹3,11,000, she continued.

Shahzad Poonawalla, a spokesman for the BJP at the national level, referred to the verbal conflict between the AAP government and wrestler Divya Kakran, an insult to athletes, youth, and the Tricolors.

"The players, women, and the national flag of our country have been insulted. I am presenting this matter in front of everyone on behalf of the party. Making the error of telling Arvind Kejriwal the truth, Kakran. Our sister and daughter have brought honor to the nation. If she told the truth, the AAP's entire social media infrastructure would become dominant "She talked.

On August 6, Indian wrestler Divya Kakran won the bronze medal in the women's 68 kg freestyle division, and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal thanked her. This is when the verbal conflict started.

She expressed her dissatisfaction with the Delhi administration, pointing out that despite living in the city for years, she had never received any assistance from the state.

"I appreciate Delhi CM's congratulations on my win. Despite living and working in Delhi for the past 20 years, I never received assistance from the city. I ask that I be honored in the same way you do other wrestlers from Delhi, regardless of whether they compete for another state " she tweeted.

She tweeted, and AAP MLA Bharadwaj responded by saying, "The entire nation is happy of you, sister. However, I don't recall you playing for Delhi. You have always represented Uttar Pradesh when you play. But the nation itself is the player. You shouldn't hold Yogi Adityanath ji in high regard. I believe the Delhi Chief Minister would give you his full attention."

"Maybe I'm wrong, but I think you've always played for Uttar Pradesh and not the state of Delhi. Right now, the entire nation is proud of you. I beseech God for your success "he said.

In response to these remarks, Kakran stated that she was a representative of Delhi from 2011 to 2017, and she also posted a picture of her certificate as evidence. If he doesn't believe her, she said that she is willing to give other screenshots of the 17 gold medal certificates she got for the national capital.
