After making the winning shot and winning the gold medal, Lakshya hurled his racket into the spectators.

Lakshya Sen, an Indian shuttler, inspired the entire country with his heroics in the men's singles badminton final match at the Commonwealth Games 2022. On Monday, the 20-year-old defeated Malaysia's NG Tze Yong 19-21, 21-19, and 21-16 to win the gold medal. Lakshya, who had previously assisted India in capturing the storied Thomas Cup in May, now has a new accomplishment to his résumé. The shuttler was unable to contain his emotions after recording the crushing victory in the summit match on Monday, and he went bonkers in his celebration.

Following his final shot and winning the gold medal, Lakshya was seen in a viral video flinging off his racket in the stands. The shuttler made a special display of celebration, shouting and even took off his T-shirt to express his happiness on achieving the feat.

Lakshya's spectacular celebration left the crowd in awe and gushing about the flair and power he displayed in the gold medal match against his Malaysian opponent.

Sen trailed for a large portion of the first game of the match but maintained a close distance from the Malaysian, who had defeated world champion Yew Kean Loh and Kidambi Srikanth in his previous two matches.

Before Yong scored back-to-back forehand winners to earn a game point, Sen made it 19-18 from 16-19. After a difficult rally, Sen erred in a baseline call, giving Yong the lead.

Sen led 11-9 at the half and never looked back in the second game. After the break, the Indian scored 12 points in a row to tie the match. A few of Yong's mistakes were unintentional, and it appeared that he was trying to save himself for the third game.

Sen commanded the match from beginning to end while operating at his offensive peak. Although Yong made every effort, Sen was unstoppable.
